ABOUT D-DUMMIT
Managing Partner Darren Dummit is, above all else, a Proud Father to Jackson and Marley. He is also an Entrepreneur, Start-up Founder, and Attorney who has gained expertise in the Sports, Entertainment and Health Care spaces over the last 20 years.
Prior to creating the “MIL” Deals within the nascent NIL industry, Darren was a graduate of Harvard-Westlake in southern California, where he played three sports and started the school’s student broadcasting and student coaching programs in 1998. He went on to the University of Texas at Austin, writing as lead sports columnist for The Daily Texan and being named “Texas’ Most Respected Sports Writer” in 2003. Darren then graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, publishing a legal article on Maurice Clarett’s challenge to the NFL age limitation.
For the first 10 years of his legal career, Darren worked in the courtroom representing doctors and hospitals (such as Tenet and HCA) in medical malpractice litigation, also acting as outside General Counsel and head of litigation for American Golf Corporation, then the country's second largest golf course management company.
In 2014, Darren co-founded a sports and entertainment technology start-up in the golf-tainment space, Golfstream, raising millions over a five-year period and featuring a residency in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After Golfstream, Darren then consulted for a number of funds and companies - most notably Lune Rouge Innovation, the Montreal-based fund started by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.

When Covid hit, Darren began working as Counsel for Seyfarth & Shaw, a Top 50 International Law Firm, providing legal counsel to major sports figures, sports networks, sports holding companies, and other start-up and growth companies. Most notably, Darren assisted FOX with its sports broadcasting contracts as they were effected by the Covid pandemic, while also acting as General Counsel and helping the holding company LA Golf became one of the hottest brands in the golf industry.
In the end of 2022, Darren started DD Advisory Partners. He is a full-time Father, a part-time writer, and and a 4-handicap golfer who can occasionally still hit a jumper. When not working, you can usually find Darren driving his two kids around Los Angeles for sporting events and concerts, or driving them around the Los Angeles Country Club for golf and life lessons.
